Towards the Cosmos. The Secrets of Astronautics.
Javier Casado announced the immediate availability of a new book on astronautical topics. This is a collection of articles published in various media in recent years, and covers a wide range of topics. The work is entitled "Towards the Cosmos. The secrets of astronomy "and includes up to 56 items distributed by areas (history, technology, curiosities, etc.), Totaling 467 pages and including some 150 pictures. Most interesting, however, is that the book will be distributed digitally free of charge. It is available in various formats (PDF, ePub, mobi, fb2 and LRF) to run on computers and electronic readers. Covered by the Creative Commons license, the work may be redistributed under the restrictions imposed in that case, allowing for anyone who wishes to compensate the author through Paypal. Without doubt, a work highly recommended for anyone interested in astronautics you want to update on many issues related to it. Javier Casado is in any case the author of several books published conventionally and is one of the most entertaining science popularizers of space. (

Hubble Space Telescope continues to surprise with his astronomical discoveries. NASA has just announced that their observations have identified a candidate to become the most distant galaxy known to date. Would find 13,200 million light-years, and we'd be seeing when the Universe was only 480 million years old. The previous record belonged to a galaxy 150 million light-years closer. According to the image, would be a blue compact galaxy of stars, rather small (it would take 100 to give shape to the Milky Way), and very weak. Given this, it concludes that between 480 and 650 million years after the Big Bang, the universe underwent a dramatic increase in the rate of star birth. The observation was made with the Wide Field Camera 3, shortly after being installed on Hubble in May 2009. Astronomers have taken more than a year to discuss the results and make the corresponding analysis. The picture makes clear that the mini galaxy is too young and small to spiral look like ours. Its stars must have formed between 100 and 200 million years ago from gas trapped in a region of dark matter. The new protogalaxy only observable at infrared wavelengths more distant.
